Job Description:
A multi award-winning organisation is looking for positive, caring and energetic people to join a passionate team in residential homes in County Durham.
If you can demonstrate the ability to work hard and give your best at all times, maintain a positive outlook and empathetic manner in all situations, then you could be exactly what they’re looking for. Experience of working in care and relevant qualifications are not required as full training will be provided.
Please note: In this position you’ll be required to work every other weekend, night shifts and long days. Full details of shift patterns will be discussed at interview. You will need a full UK driving Licence. If you do not have a full UK driving licence, there are full-time night shift posts available.
The Role:
As a Support Worker, you’ll report to the Registered Manager and will be primarily responsible for supporting service users with learning disabilities and autism in all aspects of their everyday lives, promoting a lifestyle that supports individual needs and choices and promotes and encourages independence.
In the job you’ll be tasked with the following:
*Following detailed care plans and risk assessments ensuring a safe environment at all times
*Supporting and encouraging service users to take part in everyday tasks including personal care
*Ensuring the health and safety of service users is maintained throughout
*Accompanying service users to sporting activities, social events, colleges, family get-togethers, meals out, cooking, cinema, theatre and concerts
*Supporting the service users in every other aspect of their lives under the guidance of the dedicated management team.
The Candidate:
To be considered for the Support Worker role you won’t need experience as full training will be provided. It is more important we find candidates with the right attitude and the right values. You will be nurturing, full of energy and willing to get involved in activities such as gardening, sports and all the activities mentioned above.
In addition, it’s essential that you possess the following:
*A good team working attitude
*A good standard of literacy and numeracy
*Good basic IT skills
*A flexible attitude when it comes to working hours

The Package:
Starting rate: £12.00 per hour, full time permanent positions available, including:
