Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Mechanical Designer to join major projects across the UK. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing mechanical systems, components, and products. You will work closely with engineers, project managers, and other team members to create innovative and efficient mechanical designs that meet both client specifications and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
*Design mechanical components and systems, including 3D modelling and drafting using CAD software.
*Develop detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications.
*Collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to ensure designs meet functional, safety, and performance requirements.
*Perform design calculations and simulations to validate mechanical systems and components.
*Assist in the selection of materials, manufacturing processes, and assembly methods.
*Review and revise designs based on feedback from internal teams, clients, and testing results.
*Prepare and maintain project documentation, including specifications, design reports, and revision logs.
*Support the prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical designs.
*Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues during product development and production stages.
*Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new materials, and emerging technologies.
Qualifications:
*Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
*Proven experience in mechanical design, including proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
*Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
*Knowledge of engineering principles, design calculations, and simulation tools.
*Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
*Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
*Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
*Experience with prototyping, testing, and product development is a plus.
