Location: Birmingham
Salary: Up to £27,000 per annum (DOE)
Hours: Full-Time, Permanent (Monday to Friday)
Role Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic IAG/Careers Advisor to join our team in Birmingham. This role is integral to delivering high-quality Information, Advice, and Guidance (IAG) services to local communities. You will work closely with individuals, helping them identify career opportunities, skills gaps, and appropriate pathways into employment, education, or training.
£27,000 - Level 4 IAG
£25,000 - £26,000 - Level 3 IAG
Key Responsibilities:
Advisory Services
*Conduct one-to-one and small group interviews to discuss career and education options.
*Help clients identify skills gaps and create tailored action plans to achieve their employment, education, and training goals.
*Provide face-to-face IAG services, including facilitating workshops and activities.
*Work under a caseload system, delivering outcomes against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as milestones, progressions, and outcomes.
*Undertake customer tracking and engagement to evidence and record progressions effectively.
Stakeholder Engagement
*Build relationships with relevant agencies and act as a referral agent for training, employment bodies, and other partner organisations.
*Liaise with external organisations to identify employment opportunities for clients.
Service Delivery
*Assist the team in implementing and maintaining systems for effective service delivery.
*Target potential service users in line with project delivery plans, ensuring they maximize the services available to them.
*Adhere to national IAG standards and undertake necessary training to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Essential/Desirable Requirements:
Essential
*Ability to work towards a Level 4 Advice and Guidance Qualification (financial commitment required).
*Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
*Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage a caseload.
*Commitment to meeting KPIs and delivering measurable outcomes.
*Ability to reliably commute to or relocate to Birmingham.
Desirable
*Education: GCSE or equivalent.
*Experience: At least 1 year of careers advice or a similar role.
Additional Responsibilities:
*Adhere to organisational Equal Opportunities and Health & Safety policies.
*Perform other duties consistent with the purpose and grading of the role.
*Uphold safeguarding practices, promoting the welfare of children and young people.
· As part of this role, you will work towards a Level 4 Advice and Guidance Qualification, with a financial commitment to either self-fund (£2,000) or join a reimbursement plan over two years (if you don’t already have a level 4 IAG).
