Classroom Support Workers
Do you have experience in schools assisting children with challenging behaviour?
Do you feel you can make a difference to children who come from disadvantaged backgrounds?
Milk Education are recruiting Classroom Support Workers required for January 2025 and onwards with an interest in supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs as well as challenging behaviour. The role will involve providing support to children in a Pupil Referral Unit in Cramlington aged from 11-16 years old.
This role as a Support Worker in a Pupil Referral Unit may require you to work with children on a one-to-one basis or a small group of children. You will need to have:
*Perseverance
*Empathy
*Resilience
*Patience
*Have an inner drive to want to make a difference and have a positive attitude towards their learning for the better
*Be aware and understanding of their Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs
Role and Responsibilities as a Classroom Support Worker:
*Ensure the pupils stay on task by enforcing behaviour management strategies
*Support and provide guidance to those with Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues
*Working alongside the teachers and parents to create individual behavioural plans
*Acting as a role model and contribute to a safe yet fun learning environment
*Deal with challenging situations calmly, using de-escalation strategies implemented by yourself and the teacher
We are looking for a Classroom Support Worker who is:
*Passionate about enabling every child to fulfil their potential
*Able to contribute to, and work, as part of a team
*Reliable and flexible to suit the expectations of our schools
*Previous experience working within a educational setting
*Creative, Pro-active and Enthusiastic Individual
*Able to work under own initiative
*Education related qualification preferred but not essential
