Job Description:
Job Title: Maintenance Technician with Carpentry Qualifications
Location: Exeter, UK
Salary: £32,462 per annum + on-call allowances/overtime (up to an additional £3K per annum)
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM) plus on call
In this role, you will provide both planned and responsive maintenance services, ensuring the campus facilities are well-maintained and safe for all users.
Key Responsibilities: *General Maintenance: Perform a variety of maintenance tasks, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and general repairs.
*Carpentry: Utilise your carpentry skills to construct, install, repair, and maintain structures and fixtures such as doors, windows, furniture, and cabinetry.
*Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance to avoid breakdowns and ensure the longevity of facilities.
*Emergency Repairs: Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situations, ensuring minimal disruption to campus operations.
*Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
*Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, addressing maintenance issues efficiently and effectively.
Qualifications and Experience: *Trade Qualification: Recognised qualification in carpentry (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds).
*Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
*Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with staff, students, and contractors.
*Flexibility: Willingness to participate in an on-call rota and perform overtime as required.
