Finance Manager/Management Accountant Location: Benfleet
Salary: £40,000 to £42,000
Job Type: Full-time (No Hybrid)
We are currently seeking a skilled Finance Manager with a full AAT qualification and a solid background in management accounting to enhance our financial operations. This role is based at our head office in Benfleet, where you will play a pivotal role in steering our financial processes and ensuring robust financial health throughout the organisation.
Role Overview As a Finance Manager, you will collaborate closely with the Finance Director to oversee and optimise our financial operations. Your expertise will be crucial in managing various financial tasks from payroll to strategic budgeting and rigorous cost analysis.
Key Responsibilities *Collaborate with the Finance Director to oversee the finance department’s daily operations.
*Handle accounts payable and manage weekly payment schedules in both GBP and foreign currencies.
*Compile and present monthly management accounts and quarterly VAT returns.
*Support budgeting and forecasting efforts, focusing on cash flow management and profit & loss statements.
*Conduct thorough property and overhead cost analyses and spearhead cost-saving measures across the organisation.
*Coordinate the annual audit process, working closely with external auditors and tax advisors.
*Manage the renewal of maintenance and energy contracts.
*Occasionally provide backup support to the payroll department.
Required Skills & Qualifications *AAT qualification or equivalent, with a minimum of 3 years in management accounting.
*Experience in payroll management is preferred.
*Exceptional analytical abilities with a keen eye for detail.
*Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effectively conveying information in both written and verbal form.
*Demonstrated ability to implement effective cost control measures and ensure compliance.
*Logical problem-solving skills with a capacity to devise practical solutions to complex issues.
*Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel is crucial.
