Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant - Preston - Full-Time
Location: Preston, Lancashire
Contract Type: Term-Time Only
Salary: £80-90 per day (dependent on experience)
Job Description:
We are looking for a caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join our Year 6 team at a primary school in Preston. This is a full-time role, working afternoons only, supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) to help them succeed in their learning and transition to secondary school.
Key Responsibilities: *Provide targeted support to Year 6 students with SEN during afternoon lessons.
*Work 1:1 or in small groups with pupils who require additional assistance, adapting learning resources to meet individual needs.
*Assist the class teacher in creating an inclusive learning environment.
*Contribute to the implementation and monitoring of individual education plans (IEPs).
*Encourage positive behavior and engagement in learning.
*Support with emotional and social development, as well as academic progress.
Requirements: *Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally with a focus on SEN.
*A relevant qualification in supporting teaching and learning (desirable but not essential).
*Experience working with students with SEN, including autism, ADHD, or speech and language difficulties.
*Patience, understanding, and a commitment to supporting students’ development.
*Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
*Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
