Children in Care - Qualified Social Worker
Medway Council
Location: Broadside
Salary: Up to £44,958 per annum + £2,000 annual retention payment after 1 year of service
Working Style: Hybrid (minimum 2 days per week office-based)

The Role
As a Social Worker in the Children in Care Team, you will:
*Manage a diverse caseload with reflective supervision, providing focused and analytical assessments.
*Develop SMART care plans and reviews with clear objectives and measurable outcomes to support children in achieving positive futures.
*Work directly with children and young people to understand their lived experiences, wishes, and feelings.
*Use the Signs of Safety practice model to deliver strength-based and relationship-focused interventions.
*Prepare and present high-quality reports for various professional settings, including Looked After Children Reviews, Legal Planning Meetings, and Court Proceedings.
*Undertake life-story work with children to help them understand their journey and identity.
*Collaborate with multi-agency partners to coordinate services and support for children and their families.
What We’re Looking For
*Qualifications: A qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England. Successful completion of the ASYE year is desirable but not essential.
*Experience: Demonstrable experience in child protection, court work, permanence planning, and direct work with children and families.
*Skills: Strong communication, assessment, and analytical skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and produce high-quality reports.
*Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant legislation, statutory guidance, and the application of theoretical frameworks in social work practice.
*Other Requirements: A car driver with daily access to a vehicle for business purposes.
