Northumbria Police is one of the largest police forces in the country, serving a population of 1.5 million people from a wide range of various communities, covering an area of more than 2,000 square miles. We provide a comprehensive policing service to communities across the North East, covering the local authority areas of Newcastle, Gateshead, South Tyneside, North Tyneside and Sunderland –which are all predominantly urban – as well as Northumberland, which has both urban and rural areas.

In a newly created post as the Executive Director – Commercial Services, your role demands visionary leadership and will work collaboratively with the new Executive team to strive towards our vision.

The role

The Executive Director – Commercial Services will play a key role in the executive leadership team with direct responsibility for Commercial Services - Digital Policing (IT), Finance & Resources, Estates, and Information Management. Your role will include:
*Challenge the status quo: Engage in day-to-day operations, infusing fresh ideas, and ensuring efficient delivery of commercial services.
*Commercial Savvy: Understand the nuances of incentivising a public sector workforce and translating strategy into tangible outcomes.
*Digital strategy: Ability to drive forward our digital strategy.
*Estates Strategy Leadership: Spearhead our Estates strategy, ensuring effective utilisation of physical assets.
*Value for Money (VFM): Delivering cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
*Revenue Generation and Development: Guiding major projects toward successful outcomes.

The person
We welcome candidates with:
*Public Sector Insight: Prior experience or knowledge in the public sector (desirable but not essential), underpinned by finance and budget management expertise. We value commercial perspectives and experience including those from the private sector.

Benefits/Next Steps
Salary range £115,182.00 - £127,020.00 plus benefits.
