HAB is a diverse and inclusive comprehensive school for girls in central London. Many HAB girls are from disadvantaged backgrounds, but all study the EBacc and are prepared for university so as to compete with their more advantaged peers. HAB teachers and support staff are uncompromising and caring in achieving this.
Main Areas of Responsibility
Your responsibilities will include:
*Supervision and management of Internally Excluded Students, including managing the curriculum and working with the teachers to develop appropriate resources in the inclusion and reflection rooms
*The administration of inclusion and exclusion
*Keeping records of student attendance, behaviour and progress in the inclusion and reflection rooms
*Ensuring reset conversations take place for all students who are in the inclusion and reflection rooms before they return to the main school
*Supporting students with individual learning needs (SEND) within inclusion and reflection rooms, ensuring the provision of diverse resources
*Liaising closely with external agencies to ensure exchange of relevant information and smooth transition for students in need of support
*Communicating with parents on incidents and sanctions with clarity in a timely manner
*Using the core values with students in behaviour conversations
*Ensuring routines in the inclusion and reflection and investigation rooms are applied consistently and in line with academy policies
*Participating in the development and implementation of strategies to maintain acceptable student behaviour
*Supporting the Vice Principal for Behaviour with the management of student behaviour within the class groups and taking responsibility for administrative actions
*Supporting the Academy Reward system
Qualifications & Experience
We would like to hear from you if you have:
*Qualifications to A Level/Level 3 standard or equivalent
*Good knowledge of ICT systems including Microsoft software
*Knowledge of the MIS systems for input and export of student data
*Evidence of pastoral related training
*Training in child protection and safeguarding procedures
*Basic knowledge of first aid; e.g. first aid course or willingness to undergo training
*Experience of working in an inner-city school or educational establishment
*Experience of working with students from the 11-16 age range
*Administration and working with young people
*Using ICT for curriculum and administration purposes including to monitor and track student progress
*Developing student autonomy through strategies such as peer mentoring
*Using extra-curricular activities to enhance motivation and attainment
*Raising levels of attendance and punctuality through rigorous monitoring, reporting and follow-up action
*Managing class groups and allocated rooms
