Job Description:
A great opportunity has arisen in a distinctive and highly regarded London-based law firm who require an experienced Senior Business Development Manager to join their talented team. The organisation is going through an exciting period of growth and needs an outstanding BD specialist to manage and drive marketing and business development initiatives for the corporate and M&A practice.
The role holder will bring a strategic and planned approach to marketing and business development, advising on best practice and following up on planned activity. You will focus on driving forward the practice area marketing and business development initiatives for corporate and M&A, working very closely with partners who value and respect the combination and expertise of the team, to help them move team forward with their marketing and BD efforts at a pivotal time. With line management responsibility for a BD Executive, it will be your responsibility to lead initiatives that will directly impact on the success of the practice, working with partners and other fee earners to provide strong project management in the implementation of business development and marketing plans ensuring activities are carried out to time and on budget. The Senior Business Development Manager will be heavily involved in business planning and bids and proposals and will be required to develop action plans for existing clients, targets and intermediaries. Keeping abreast of trends in the market in order to identify potential hot topics and ideas for content, the successful applicant you will be responsible for marketing communications and collateral, directory and award submissions and overseeing the organisation of events that will help the practice develop its reputation in key markets and generate leads in a cost effective manner.
Pre-requisites for the role of Senior Business Development Manager include proven business development experience gained at manager level in a leading professional services organisation, ideally a law firm, to include demonstrable success in dealing with partners at a senior level. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and tenacious team player, with a high attention to detail and excellent influencing and communication skills in order to advise effectively at partner level. Previous experience of corporate and M&A will be highly advantageous.
