Logistics Administrator
Full Time Permanent role
Monday - Friday 0900-1800
Workplace based close to Burgess Hill
Salary £25000-£26500 plus very good company benefits.
Due to workplace location it is essential to be a driver and have your own transport. Plenty of free parking on site.
The role:
An exciting opportunity as a Logistics Administrator, where you will be immersed in the dynamic world of Shipping and Logistics. This role offers a fantastic starting point for a career in this sector, involving professional customer service, and comprehensive training in various aspects of logistics and warehouse operations.
Admin duties of the position include:
Ensure successful delivery of shipped parcels by managing Proof of Delivery (POD) processes.
Engage directly with clients and suppliers to ensure smooth logistics operations.
Optimise shipment processes to maximise company contributions whilst maintaining service levels and minimising costs.
Regularly review working processes with carriers and transport companies to ensure best practices and competitive pricing.
Warehouse duties of the position include:
Oversee the movement of freight within one of the company’s three warehouses. -
Manage documentation related to product distribution, ensuring accurate system maintenance and information storage.
Communicate effectively with customers and suppliers to maintain efficient distribution and storage processes.
Assist with warehouse tasks, including lifting when required. Forklifts are used for heavy items and forklift training can be provided if requested longer term
Key skills and competencies required:
Very good written and verbal communication skills
Previous experience is not required; full training will be provided, including freight / shipping training courses.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Emails, and Excel is necessary. Full training will be provided on in house IT systems
Educational background: GCSE or equivalent
