Your new role working as a Credit Controller will be working for a Lloyd’s Broker whose ambition is to become the leading Primary Specialty Insurance provider, underpinned by an effective and adaptable strategy, superior products and industry leaders working in a supportive environment to achieve this. Due to expansion within their Finance team, a position for a Credit Controller 6-month FTC with the possibility to extend has arisen. This role is based in London/Leeds with remote work available.
Your new role
Your new role working as a Credit Controller means you will ensure that all premium payments are made within agreed credit terms, maximising collections within the framework and to undertake the processing and administration of credit control transactions so that credit control targets are achieved. Duties will include the production, analysis and investigation of Aged Debtor Reports and Credit Balances, liaising closely and providing detail to underwriters to ensure that any accounting queries and errors can be resolved quickly. Further duties will also include chasing, resolving, negotiating and reconciling aged credit accounts directly with customers to enable the business to maintain an accurate record of its trading position as well as monitoring payments received (cheque, BACS, Credit Card, etc.) to ensure the accuracy and maintenance of data input and adherence to relevant procedures. You will also ensure KPIs are updated accordingly, and processes are documented effectively, manage tasks within an agreed timeframe, critically appraise all processes and assumptions on an ongoing basis, help drive forward good Conduct for the business and assist in other areas of the team when required.
What you’ll need to succeed
Your previous experience as a Credit Controller with experience of the end-to-end receivables process will contribute to your success in securing this role. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical skills, attention to detail, excellent time management skills, ability to prioritise your own workload, ability to work under pressure and have confidence in dealing with a range of stakeholders. Key competencies for this role include team orientation, results orientation, problem-solving, flexibility, customer focus, self-development and commercial awareness. Ideally, you will be educated to GCSE level, including 5 GCSEs grades A-C or a relevant professional qualification.
