Job Description:
Job Title: Qualified Secondary School Teaching Assistant
Location: Burnley
Rate: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract Type: Temporary, Full-Time
About the Role:
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Teaching Assistant to support a dynamic team at a secondary school. In this role, you will work alongside teachers to provide academic support, assist with lesson delivery, and help maintain a positive classroom environment. You will be instrumental in supporting students’ learning and development, including those with special educational needs (SEN).
Key Responsibilities:
*Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons and activities.
*Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, especially those with SEN.
*Assist in the preparation of teaching resources and classroom materials.
*Help monitor and track students’ progress, providing feedback where necessary.
*Maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment, supporting students in staying focused and engaged.
*Support the teacher in classroom management and discipline.
Ideal Candidate:
*Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
*Experience working with secondary school students, especially those with SEN, is desirable.
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
*A proactive, patient, and positive approach to supporting students.
*Ability to adapt and work flexibly across a range of subjects and year groups.
