Job Title: Senior/Principal/Chartered Fire Engineer
Location: London, United Kingdom (with occasional travel to project sites)
Salary: £60,000 - £90,000 per annum (depending on experience and qualifications)
About the Company: Our client is a rapidly expanding engineering consultancy renowned for delivering innovative fire safety solutions across various sectors. With a strong commitment to excellence and growth, they are considering opening a new office in Manchester to accommodate their increasing project portfolio. This expansion presents potential future opportunities for leadership roles in the Manchester office or other locations.
Role Overview: As a Senior/Principal/Chartered Fire Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing fire safety strategies for diverse building projects, ensuring compliance with the Building Regulations, particularly Approved Document B (ADB). You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality fire engineering solutions, contributing to the safety and integrity of various structures.
Key Responsibilities:
*Develop comprehensive fire safety strategies for a variety of building types and sectors.
*Ensure all designs comply with Building Regulations, focusing on Approved Document B (ADB).
*Lead fire engineering projects from concept through to completion, maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
*Conduct fire risk assessments and provide recommendations for mitigation.
*Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate fire safety solutions seamlessly into building designs.
*Mentor and support junior fire engineers, fostering professional development within the team.
*Stay abreast of the latest developments in fire safety regulations and technologies.
Qualifications and Experience:
*Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fire Engineering or a related discipline.
*Chartered status with a recognized professional body (e.g., IFE) is preferred.
*Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in fire engineering, with a proven track record in developing fire strategies and ensuring compliance with ADB.
*Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations and fire safety standards.
*Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously.
*Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
*Proficiency in fire modelling and simulation software is advantageous.
