Job Opportunity Purpose
* To provide professional vision and leadership for the school.
* To record and report on progress of pupils.
* To act as Designated Safeguard lead in the school.
* To formulate and review School Development Plans.
* To be a member of the Education SMT.
Formulate the overall aims and objectives of the school and policies for their implementation.
Lead the strategic direction and development of the school by leading by example and providing educational vision and direction to secure the strong passionate commitment of staff, parents/carers and pupils.
Ensuring that all aspects of school performance are monitored and evaluated in a robust manner and recording areas for improvement and progress made.
Be responsible for the recruitment, management and deployment of staff.
Responsibility for the standards of teaching and learning through; ensuring all staff in school have access to advice and training appropriate to their needs and supervising and participating in arrangements for the appraisal of all staff in the school.
Determine, organise and implement a broad balance curriculum for the school, having regards for the needs, experiences, interests, aptitudes and stage of development of the pupils and the resources available to the school.
Ensure pupil progression
Provide pastoral care and ensure equality and inclusion is promoted in all aspects of school life
Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents/carers and external professionals.
Be responsible for allocating and accounting for financial and material resources.
Safeguard and promoting the welfare of the pupils and ensuring there are stringent safeguarding processes for those coming into contact with them.
Ensure the health and safety of all children, staff, parents/carers and visitors.

Essential Skills *NPQH or working towards
*QTSPGCE
*At least three years of proven, strong, successful leadership and management experience in a school.
*A clear understanding of what makes good and outstanding teaching.
*Knowledge and understanding of the statutory frameworks which set out their professional duties and responsibilities.
*Experience in SEND provision, particularly autism.
*Experience in implementing, managing and evaluating change in a collaborative way.
*An understanding of the ’Independent School Standards’
*An understanding of how to empower pupils and staff to excel.
*Be able to inspire and influence others, within and beyond the school, to believe in the fundamental importance and value of education in young people’s lives.
*Be able to foster an open, transparent, and equitable culture and deal effectively with difficult conversations and conflicts at every level.
