Job Description:
Great opportunity for a VAT Associate (3+ years experience) to join the existing indirect tax team of an international banking group with EMEA HQ in London. You will support the Indirect Tax Manager in managing the indirect tax compliance requirements for the group and UK entities, as well as supporting on project and advisory work on an ad hoc basis.

Duties and Responsibilities
*Assist with preparation of UK quarterly VAT returns and annual adjustments for internal review and final sign off by Head of Taxation.
*Assist with preparation of other EMEA VAT reporting as required (which may include UAE, Netherlands, Germany, France and Spain VAT reporting).
*VAT review of Debtor Invoices.
*Assist with maintenance of policies & procedure documentation for VAT reporting and compliance requirements.
*Identification and implementation of ongoing systems and process improvements]
*Provision of, or assistance in, tax technical advice, particularly in respect of VAT.
*Assisting in the identification and implementation of new tax legislation
*Opporting to broaden your role to include operational taxes (preparation of UK FATCA / CRS returns and assisting with EMEA reporting), and additionally preparation of monthly Withholding Tax reports to Head Office

You will need to have gained some initial experience working in indirect taxes and have completed - or have taken significant steps towards gaining - a professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent). In an ideal world you might have already have some exposure to the VAT requirements of a Banking organisation, whether from the perspective of an accounting firm or whilst working in another in-house position. You will need strong Excel skills.
