- Assess children and families holistically, identifying risks and strengths to develop SMART plans.
- Work with children subject to child protection plans, children in need, and looked-after children, ensuring their voices inform their care.
- Collaborate with partners in education, health, housing, and the voluntary sector to achieve positive outcomes.
- Undertake child protection investigations and manage cases through legal and care proceedings.
- Provide reflective supervision and mentorship to less experienced team members.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, assessments, and reports.
- Ensure compliance with statutory guidance, legal obligations, and local policies.
What We’re Looking For:
Qualifications:
- Professional social work qualification (CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Registered with Social Work England (SWE).
Experience:
- Substantial experience in statutory social work settings, including child protection, family safeguarding, or looked-after children teams.
- Demonstrated success in working with children and young people to improve outcomes.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Up-to-date knowledge of UK child care law, statutory guidance, and safeguarding practices.
- Strong ability to conduct assessments and develop outcome-focused care plans.
- Skilled in motivational interviewing and other evidence-based interventions.
- Excellent communication, both written and verbal, to engage families and produce clear reports.
- Strong partnership working skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across agencies.
- Proficiency in IT systems and record-keeping.
Additional Requirements:
- A valid DBS clearance.
- Willingness and ability to travel across Surrey as required.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends to meet service needs.
Why Join Us?
- Competitive pay of up to £42 per hour.
- Opportunity to work in a high-performing team with a supportive and collaborative culture.
