Job Description:
We are partnering with an established IT service provider specialising in delivering exceptional IT solutions to prestigious educational institutions. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing organisation as a Technical Consultant, where you will oversee and enhance the delivery of cutting-edge IT infrastructure and support services.
As the Technical Lead, you’ll play a key role in leading technical operations, delivering innovative solutions, and ensuring outstanding service delivery. This position combines leadership, technical expertise, and strategic client engagement to drive exceptional results.
Location: Hybrid - Work from home with weekly visits to Gloucestershire

Your Key Responsibilities
*Technical Leadership: Oversee the engineering function, acting as a technical point of escalation and mentor for colleagues.
*Infrastructure Management: Deliver and support solutions such as next-generation firewalls, web filtering, wireless networks, server technologies, and cloud infrastructure.
*Project Delivery: Lead technical pre-sales, on-site technical assessments, and remote/onsite project delivery.
*Client Engagement: Provide attentive counsel to clients, conducting technical assessments, creating technical roadmaps, and presenting solutions effectively.
*Team Collaboration: Manage and support technical staff, ensuring the team consistently meets SLAs and provides outstanding client support.
*Documentation: Create and maintain technology documentation to support service delivery and project management.
What We’re Looking For
*Relevant Expertise: *Fortinet NSE4 certification or equivalent experience.
*Extensive 2nd/3rd line network, Windows Server, and firewall configuration experience.
*Proficiency with Microsoft Intune, Entra ID (Azure AD), and server/storage technologies (Hyper-V, VMware, HPE).
*Experience with backup technologies (e.g., Veeam), web filtering solutions (e.g., Securly, Smoothwall), and Aruba networking.

*Leadership Skills: Demonstrated experience in managing technical teams and mentoring colleagues.
*Sector Knowledge: Previous experience delivering IT services within schools or educational organizations is highly desirable.
*Soft Skills: *Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
*Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach.
*Ability to build long-term client relationships and deliver excellent customer service.

*Other Requirements: Full UK driving license and the ability to travel, with occasional overnight stays.
