Job Description:
Senior Data QA Engineer (Contract Role).
Responsibilities:
• Design and execute testing activities for new features and updates to existing systems.
• Develop and maintain both manual and automated test cases to validate functional and non-functional requirements at different stages of development.
• Promote test automation practices and implement CI/CD solutions.
• Generate clear and concise bug reports that demonstrate solution functionality.
• Communicate updates, risks, and issues effectively to various stakeholders.
Essential Skills and Experience:
• Extensive experience in testing Data Warehouses and software systems.
• Advanced SQL skills with a strong grasp of database structures.
• Proven ability to design, adapt, and execute robust test strategies.
• Experience with test automation tools and frameworks, especially in Python and SQL.
• Hands-on experience testing Azure-based solutions such as Azure SQL Database, Data Lake, and Data Factory.
• Familiarity with BI tools and processes, including testing reports, dashboards, and data models.
• Knowledge of agile methodologies (e.g., BDD, TDD) and experience in CI/CD environments.
• Understanding of the testing pyramid and how to implement testing at various levels.
• Practical experience with traditional ETL tools (e.g., SAP Business Objects Data Services, SSIS, Informatica).
• Proficiency with Azure DevOps, Git, and Pipelines for managing test cases and workflows.
Preferred Skills:
• Knowledge of BI tools such as Power BI, Business Objects, or Crystal Reports.
• Experience in financial services, especially private equity, infrastructure, or private debt (helpful but not essential).
