Job Description:
Reed Further Education are working with a college based in Norwich who are searching for a T Level Design, Surveying and Planning Lecturer to lead our 2nd Year DSP group, focusing on their occupational specialism in Design and Surveying. This role is initially temporary with the potential to become a permanent position. The successful candidate will bring industry experience and a strong background in civil engineering practices to enhance our educational offerings.
Job Title: Construction Lecturer
Position: Part-time or Full-time hours
Role type: Temporary Ongoing (with potential to go permanent)
Location: Norwich
Rate: £30p/h to £40p/h including holiday pay
Day-to-day of the role:
*Lead the 2nd Year DSP group, focusing on Design and Surveying.
*Utilise industry standard software, including CAD and Civil design programmes, to teach students effectively.
*Demonstrate key civil engineering practices and site installation sequencing.
*Engage in collaborative work with MEIS (Mechanical, Electrical, and Information Systems).
*Oversee project planning, estimating, and budgeting exercises to provide practical learning experiences.
*Maintain up to date knowledge of the industry to ensure relevance and accuracy in teaching.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
*PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
*Minimum of 3 years industry experience in civil engineering.
*Proficient in the use of CAD and Civil design software.
*Demonstrable experience in site installation sequencing and collaborative work.
*Strong background in project planning, estimating, and budgeting.
*Up to date occupational experience to ensure the relevance of course content.
