What does a Divisional Health and Safety Manager do at Southwark Council?
Are you a health and safety professional ready to take on a leadership role that makes a real difference? Southwark Council is seeking an experienced Divisional Health and Safety Manager to shape and oversee the health and safety strategy for our Housing Repairs and Maintenance Division.
What You’ll Do:
*Develop and implement a divisional health and safety strategy aligned with legislation and best practices.
*Lead compliance with Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
*Drive continuous improvement through rigorous risk assessment and accident management systems.
*Monitor performance, prepare reports, and deliver insights to senior leadership.
*Build relationships with key stakeholders, including contractors, auditors, and professional bodies.
What You’ll Bring:
*A degree in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent, with professional membership of IOSH.
*Extensive knowledge of health and safety legislation, especially in the construction industry.
*Proven experience developing and implementing strategies in large, multi-functional organizations.
*Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
