I am supporting a well established and respected firm of accountants as they look to recruit a bookkeeper and payroller to maintain accounting records for a portfolio of owner managed business clients, as well as prepare weekly and monthly payrolls.
Typically, clients will range from independent businesses to turnovers in the low millions. You will be hands on in providing bookkeeping support using a variety of accounting software including Xero, Quickbooks and Sage.
You will also prepare clients VAT Returns and submit PAYE returns on behalf of companies.

This could be a full-time position or perhaps a four day per week role, with some hybrid working included.

Main duties of the role: *Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for a portfolio of clients, including processing invoices, receipts and payments
*Prepare and submit VAT returns in accordance with HMRC deadlines, ensuring compliance with VAT regulations.
*Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
*Liaise with clients to gather necessary financial information, answer queries, and provide advice on VAT-related matters.
*Perform end to end weekly and monthly payroll for director only and small company payrolls, ensuring all necessary deductions are made and all compliance returns are submitted.  
*Use of a variety of software, predominantly Xero, but also Sage, Sage Payroll and Quickbooks.

Salary: £25,000 - £28,000
