Job Description:
Global manufacturing engineering business require a Buyer to support direct procurement activity for manufacturing. Applicants should be out-going, self-motivated professionals with a background in procurement as a Buyer.
The Buyer will join a large and supportive procurement team enjoying a period of growth. Procurement activity will focus on direct commodity areas for manufacturing. The environment is fast-paced and dynamic, so the Buyer will collaborate closely with the supply chain to ensure continuity of supply to achieve production schedules.
Specific duties of the Buyer, will include:
*Review, confirm availability and process purchase requisitions
*Liaison with internal departments - Production, Engineering, Shopfloor etc.
*End-to-end supplier order book management
*Supplier Relationship Management and development activities around OTD/OTIF metrics/KPIs
*Escalate and expedite material shortage issues and produce reports re: shortages / supplier performance etc
*Identify and qualify new suppliers for Ad-hoc requirements
*Drive productivity opportunities with supply base to deliver cost out goals
Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:
*Purchasing/procurement experience as a Junior Buyer, Buyer or Senior Buyer
*Supplier management skills and the ability to manage supplier accounts and orderbooks
*Data analysis skills - comfortable using data to drive procurement decision-making
*MRP literate
*Enthusiastic, adaptable and motivated team players
