About the role
We have an exciting opportunity available for an individual to join our international insurance group as an Accounts Assistant within our Finance Team. As a group we are committed to delivering exceptional service and tailored insurance solutions to our clients.
We are looking for an experienced finance professional who will play an integral part in supporting the integrity, efficiency and accuracy in our financial operations.
The successful candidate will have existing experience in the clearance of outstanding financial balances, efficient and timely query resolution, a high degree of accuracy and initiative, along with being an excellent communicator who builds and nurtures successful working relationships with stakeholders.
Working hours are, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm with one hour for lunch. The role is primarily London based, with a minimum of 3 days in the office/2 days working from home. This is subject to change at any times as business needs dictate.

Objectives of the role
To provide a high-quality support service to clients, markets and the broking/claims teams
To ensure that all business handled is in adherence to all internal compliance and external regulatory requirements
To ensure that all documentation and/or applicable procedures adhere to the standards set from time to time by the London Market
To maximise the efficiency of all internal and external IT and/or manual systems
About you
It is intended that the successful applicant will bring a level of expertise gained in a similar accounts or financial role, ideally with in the insurance broking industry/Lloyds Market.
You will have experience in maximising cash flow to the business by completing activities such as credit control, processing payments, investigating and resolving queries, preparing aged debts.
You will need to be a confident communicator with great attention to detail and strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
The role operates in a busy work environment dealing with varied tasks throughout the day, therefore the ability to prioritise tasks to ensure deadlines and targets are achieved is critical.
You will be proficiency in IT packages, databases, and Excel.
Skills & Expertise Required
*Strong knowledge of accounting and principle practices relating to insurance brokers
*Rounded experience in a range of accounting tasks including invoice processing, credit control and cash management
*Familiarity with accounting software such as Sage, Twinfield, IBS, RiskPro
*Excellent attention to detail with strong time-management skills and the ability to meet deadlines and plan workload
*Good communication and interpersonal skills
*Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other software
*Experience in multi-currency is desirable
*Knowledge on current financial regulations and compliance
Education and Qualifications
*GCSE or equivalent with Mathematics at a Grade C or above (minimum)
*A level or equivalent (preferred)
*AAT qualification or equivalent (desirable)
