We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join a high-performing, Private Equity (PE) backed business based in Coventry. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant to join a fast-paced and growing organization, where you will have the chance to contribute to key financial reporting processes and ensure the accuracy of financial statements.
As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting activities, preparing accurate financial statements, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards. This is a hands-on role that offers excellent exposure to the financial operations of a PE-backed business.
Key Responsibilities:
*Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards (UK GAAP/IFRS).
*Manage the month-end close process, ensuring all accounting entries are recorded accurately and within deadlines.
*Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
*Assist with the preparation of the company’s annual financial statements, liaising with auditors during the year-end audit process.
*Ensure proper accounting of fixed assets, tax, and intercompany transactions.
*Support the preparation and filing of VAT returns and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations.
*Contribute to cash flow forecasting and financial reporting for senior leadership and investors.
*Maintain strong internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with relevant policies.
*Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support to internal stakeholders as required.
*Identify areas for process improvements in financial reporting and accounting processes.
Key Requirements:
*ACA, ACCA, or equivalent qualified accountant (or equivalent experience).
*Proven experience in financial accounting, ideally within a Private Equity backed or fast-paced environment.
*Strong technical accounting knowledge, including experience with UK GAAP/IFRS.
*Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software and systems.
*Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
*Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced business.
*Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
*Experience in preparing financial statements and liaising with auditors.
*Exposure to tax, VAT, or treasury processes would be beneficial.
What We Offer:
*£40,000-50,000 and benefits package.
*Exposure to a growing, PE-backed business with opportunities for career development.
*A supportive and collaborative work environment.
*Opportunities for personal and professional growth within the finance function.
*A fast-paced and dynamic workplace with exposure to key financial decisions.
