We have a contractual FLT Operator role available at DS Smith, with a potential pathway to a permanent position. This role is ideal for someone with strong operational skills who is flexible, experienced, and eager to work both days and nights.
Role: FLT Operator
Location: South Mills, The Ridgeway, Blunham, Bedford MK44 3PH - DS Smith
Rate of Pay: £15.40 per hour
Overtime Pay:
*OT1: £23.10 (Monday to Thursday at x1.5)
*OT2: £30.80 (Friday to Sunday at x2.0)
Contract Length: 3 months rolling, with potential for a permanent position
Shift Patterns:
*Monday to Thursday: 06:00 - 16:00 (Occasional extended hours on overtime and Friday work as required)
Responsibilities:
*Safely operate machinery to move materials, achieving productivity and performance targets in quality, waste management, and customer service.
*Perform maintenance and cleaning tasks as per the planned schedule.
*Support and actively engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
*Operate a Counterbalance FLT and undertake occasional Warehouse Operative tasks (manual labor is not a primary component of this role).
Essential Requirements:
*Mandatory External Counterbalance FLT License (internal licenses will not be accepted).
*Flexibility to work nights and experience with shift patterns.
Desirable Requirements:
*Driving license and access to a car.
*Familiarity with warehouse operations.
