Job Description:
Band 6 Occupational Therapist- Locum role
*Immediate start until end March 2025
*Based at The Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport, South Wales.
*The work is on a winter ward - inpatient older adults.
*Monday - Friday (8:00-4:00) / (9:00-5:00). I have asked if they would accept part time.
Job Summary As a Band 6 Occupational Therapist, you will deliver high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy services to individuals across a range of settings, including hospitals, community, and outpatient environments. This role involves assessing, planning, and implementing individualized care plans to support patients in achieving their maximum potential for independence and well-being.
You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, offering supervision to junior staff and students while contributing to service development and improvement initiatives.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Responsibilities * Assessment and Treatment
*Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical, cognitive, and psychosocial needs.
*Develop and deliver person-centered treatment plans to improve independence in daily living activities.
*Use evidence-based interventions to support rehabilitation and recovery.
