Job Description:
Kenny Recruit are looking for a qualified Financial Controller who has experience of working with stock. You will be responsible for running the day-to-day finance function, you will report into the Finance Director and have a team reporting into you. As the Financial Controller, you will run the month closing, ideally within a short time frame, you will be responsible for the audit, you will business partner with Heads of Departments and having a commercial edge will help as you will be working with stock.
Pay: £75,000 - £85,000 per annum dependent on experience) + benefits
Location: Central London (5 days in the office to begin with, moving to 3 after probation)
Working hours: 9:00am- 6:00pm
Key Responsibilities:
*Responsible for ensuring all reporting deadlines for the business are met.
*Overseeing all financial control activities - month-end close process, preparation and review of management accounts, comprehensive balance sheet substantiation, VAT and other taxation reporting and submission.
*Present month end financials to Senior-Leadership team and own the actions log.
*Invoicing, paying down and reconciling intercompany positions monthly.
*Ensure the timely delivery of KPIs for financial covenant reporting purposes.
*Build effective working relationships with cross functional business partners to drive process improvements and delivering key business metrics and insight to enable informed decision making.
*Design and implement financial process changes to drive efficiency by leveraging latest technologies.
*Continuous improvement of analytical processes to facilitate commercial insights.
*Taking full responsibility for audit process from planning through to completion and creation of financial statements. Capturing and enacting learnings from prior audits.
*Work with Finance team to create own development plans.
*Partnering operations team to monitor and manage KPI on inventory and providing reporting on a timely basis to enable meaningful change.
*Responsible for landed cost and inventory valuation including all provisions and judgements.
*Responsible for intercompany invoicing and intercompany loans and interest.
*Partnering with the Tax Accountant to meet and forecast deadlines and deliverables.
*Managing the department calendar to ensure no deadlines missed.
*Supporting budget process with models and workings to supplement business needs to additional data and insights.
*Other ad hoc duties
Requirements:
*Fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
*Stock experience.
*Exceptional system skills.
*Advanced MS Office skills, particularly Excel.
*Ability to meet demanding deadlines, often with competing priorities, and adapts to business needs.
*Ability to absorb complex operational information and produce accurate, intelligent analysis.
*Enjoys challenge and change.
*Excellent time management/organisational and multi-tasking skills.
*Strong communication skills.
*Flexible and adaptable in approach.
