Job Description:
Our client is seeking a Compliance Manager, who will play a crucial role in shaping and implementing their compliance strategy, ensuring that they not only meet but exceed regulatory standards in the fast-paced and evolving cryptocurrency landscape. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team and make a significant impact in a rapidly growing industry.
The candidate must be based in Cambridge or willing to travel into their Cambridge site, the opportunity may be potentially full-time on site, however, their may be some opportunities for hybrid.
Key Responsibilities:
*Spearhead the development, implementation, and maintenance of robust compliance policies and procedures aligned with FCA regulations and industry best practices
*Oversee the company’s AML/KYC program, including the implementation of advanced blockchain analytics tools for transaction monitoring
*Lead the FCA license application process, acting as the primary liaison for all regulatory communications and audits
*Conduct comprehensive risk assessments across our product offerings, including crypto trading, staking, and DeFi integrations
*Design and deliver engaging compliance training programs for staff, fostering a culture of compliance throughout the organization
*Stay abreast of global regulatory developments in the crypto space, providing strategic advice to senior management on potential impacts and opportunities
*Collaborate with legal counsel to ensure all marketing materials, terms of service, and user agreements are compliant with relevant regulations
*Manage relationships with external compliance consultants and auditors as needed
Qualifications:
*Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior compliance role within the cryptocurrency or fintech industry
*Proven track record of successfully navigating FCA regulations and licensing processes
*Deep understanding of blockchain technology and its implications for AML/CFT compliance
*Strong knowledge of global cryptocurrency regulations, including FATF recommendations and EU AMLD5
*Experience implementing and managing compliance technology solutions
*Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations and apply them practically
*Outstanding communication skills, capable of explaining complex compliance issues to both technical and non-technical audiences
*Relevant advanced degree in Law, Finance, or related field
*Professional certifications such as CAMS, ICA, or equivalent are highly desirableWhat We Offer:
