Food Technician - Secondary School (Newham)

We are a dynamic and inclusive secondary school in Newham looking for a Food Technician to join our team. This is a fantastic role for someone who enjoys working in a practical environment and contributing to students’ learning and development.
The Role: As a Food Technician, you will:
*Prepare ingredients, equipment, and resources for practical food technology lessons.
*Support teachers during lessons, ensuring students have the materials and guidance needed to succeed.
*Assist students with practical tasks, promoting safe and hygienic practices.
*Maintain and clean equipment, ensuring the kitchen areas meet health and safety standards.
*Help manage stock levels, including ordering and organising supplies.
*Provide administrative support to the Food Technology department when required.
About You: We’re looking for someone who:
*Has a passion for food and enjoys working in an educational setting.
*Is organised, reliable, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
*Has knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (a qualification in food hygiene is an advantage but not essential).
*Can engage positively with young people and support their learning.
*Has previous experience in a similar role or a practical food environment (desirable but not essential).
