Job Description:
Job Title: Part-Time Accounts Assistant
Location: Camden, London
Job Type: Part-Time - 3 days a week
Salary: £29k to £34k Pro Rata
Company Overview:
We are a dynamic and growing company based in Camden, London, looking to recruit a Part-Time Accounts Assistant to support our finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong organisational and numerical skills to assist with the day-to-day financial operations of the business in a flexible and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
*Assist in maintaining accurate financial records, including managing accounts payable and receivable.
*Process invoices, receipts, and payments, ensuring accuracy and timely posting to the accounting system.
*Perform bank reconciliations and assist with cash flow management.
*Help with the preparation of VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations.
*Support payroll processing, including reviewing employee hours and ensuring timely payments.
*Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
*Update and maintain accounting records and spreadsheets.
*Deal with general accounting queries from suppliers and customers.
*Support the team with other ad hoc administrative and accounting tasks as needed.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
*Previous experience in an accounts assistant or similar role is desirable.
*A basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
*Proficiency in using accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
*Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry.
*Ability to work efficiently, prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines.
*Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
*A proactive and flexible approach to work.
Preferred:
*AAT qualification (or working towards) would be an advantage but not essential.
*Experience with VAT returns and payroll is beneficial.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Hours:
*Flexible working hours, approximately 21 hours per week.
*Option to work remotely for part of the week if needed.
