1:1 Teaching Assistant - Year Class ASD Support (NG7) Position: 1:1 Teaching Assistant
Location: NG7, Nottingham
Year Group: Year 2
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in NG7. The successful candidate will work 1:1 with a pupil in Year 2 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This is a rewarding role that requires patience, understanding, and the ability to adapt to the individual needs of the pupil, ensuring their educational and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
*Provide tailored 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with ASD, focusing on their individual needs.
*Promoting a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
*Implement strategies to manage behaviour effectively and promote engagement.
*Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure the pupil’s progress aligns with their Individual Education Plan (IEP).
*Assist with social and emotional development, encouraging independence and confidence.
Requirements:
*Proven experience supporting children with SEND, particularly ASD.
*A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
*Strong understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder and related strategies.
*Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
*A proactive and flexible approach to adapting to the needs of the pupil and school.
