Corporate Accountant (Qualified/Part-Qualified)
Location: Exeter
Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 (DOE) + Annual Bonus
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
About the Role: We are seeking a Corporate Accountant to join a well-established accountancy practice and play a key role in their corporate team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified accountant looking to develop their career in a dynamic and varied environment. The role includes accounts preparation, tax, bookkeeping, VAT, and audit work, offering exposure to a broad client portfolio.
Key Responsibilities: *Plan, prepare, and review accounts, bookkeeping, and VAT returns for a range of clients.
*Prepare personal and corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
*Advise clients on accounting software (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks) and assist with system setup and troubleshooting.
*Stay up to date with industry developments and software updates to enhance efficiency.
*Provide ad hoc support to the line manager, including administrative tasks and team billing.
*Set budgets for staff and provide guidance on accounts completion.
*Train and mentor trainees, supporting their professional development.
*Maintain strong client relationships, handling queries in a proactive and client-focused manner.
*Undertake audit work, requiring some time out of the office at client sites.

*Solid Excel skills (intermediate level).
*Excellent client communication and supervisory abilities.
Desirable:
*Experience working with charity accounts.
*Familiarity with filing company confirmation statements.
*Experience using CCH software.
