Job Description:
My Local Government client is recruiting a Capital Projects Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis. Managing a small team and reporting into the Senior Financial Capital Accountant, your role will be to act as the lead management accountant and finance business partner for Capital across the Council and its subsidiaries, providing financial advice and support to Directors, Heads of Service and Project Managers on all aspects of capital budgets, capital expenditure and capital financing.
Day to day you will support the Senior Financial Capital Accountant in reporting on and control of all capital financing whilst leading on financial activities of the capital programme to ensure that the financial accounting and reporting framework of the Council is adhered to, and that robust financial information is available to aid decision making. You will also lead the capital monitoring processes, in collaboration with Project Managers, to ensure accurate budgeting, forecasting, capital financing and early identification of pressures, savings and financial risks are reported to Executives promptly as well as present capital monitoring reports and capital budget-setting reports.
To be considered for the role you will need to be a fully qualified CCAB accountant and have hands on experience in capital finance in a local government setting,. You will also need a proven record of accomplishment in partnering with stakeholders to support robust financial management of significant capital budgets gained within a large and diverse organisation e.g. delivering efficiency savings.
This is a permanent role with circa 2 days a week required in the office. The salary on offer is £55,620 to £59,739.
