About the Role
We are seeking a talented Software Engineering Manager - RPA to lead our RPA development team in delivering automation solutions for our colleagues, with a key focus on QA, Release Management & Support.
This is an opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation, committed to digital transformation and innovation. We are focused on accelerating automation, aiming to do more and faster, and removing toil from our processes. You will be reporting to the Automation Practice Lead and managing a group of in-house and third-party developers.
What You’ll Be Doing
*Lead and inspire a cross-functional engineering team that is responsible for quality assurance, change and release management, and BAU operation.
*Championing quality assurance within the team, ensuring all deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
*Developing and overseeing comprehensive testing strategies for RPA solutions, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
*Managing the change and release process to deliver small change and bug fixes for our existing automation.
*Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues in UiPath workflows, ensuring the seamless operation of automation processes.
*Monitoring our BAU automation and provide BAU support to business stakeholders
*Managing UiPath Orchestrator environments and ensuring optimal robot utilisation and performance.
*Recruiting and shaping an existing team to be a high-performing group of talented professionals and supporting their growth and development.
*Partnering closely with other technical teams, business stakeholders, and RPA analysts to understand business processes, data flows, challenges, and opportunities to design solutions that deliver better outcomes for our colleagues.
*Fostering strong relationships with third-party vendors and partners to enhance the quality and efficiency of RPA solutions.
*Co-authoring, reviewing, and/or signing off documentation such as solution design documents, operational manuals, UAT matrices and defect log.
*Establishing a culture driven by purpose and excellence while motivating the team to make a difference.
About You
*Strong technology leadership experience within complex organisations.
*Extensive experience in leading complex testing projects and automation initiatives.
*Experience in leading teams responsible for BAU support and quality assurance, and managing change and release.
*Experience in managing and leading testing teams as well as change and release management.
*Experience working in a business-value-driven environment, collaborating closely with business stakeholders.
*Proven ability to partner with multiple business areas to deliver key priorities with a "one-connected team" mindset.
*Strong people focus-prioritising your team’s learning and development, understanding how to keep them motivated, and building a collaborative and high-performing culture.
*Ability to manage ambiguity and seek clarity through collaboration and communication.
*Solid software engineering/RPA background with the ability to define and communicate complex architectural concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
*Extensive experience in leading complex testing projects and automation initiatives.
*Strong technology leadership experience within complex organisations.
Tech Stack
*UiPath (Studio, Orchestrator, Robots)
*Programming and Scripting Languages: C#, VB, PowerShell
*Database Technologies: SQL
*Version Control Systems: Git
*Familiarity with APIs, JSON, XML, HTML
*Power Platform (desirable)
Interview Process
This will be a 3-stage interview process comprising an initial informal call with the hiring manager, followed by two structured interviews.
Working Schedule
37.5 hours, flexible based upon meeting business demands, with occasional onsite visits at the Bristol office (not more than once a month).
