Senior Adult Social Care Lawyer (Locum) *Location: Reading, UK
*Job Type: Contract (Initial 3 months with possibility of extension)
*Salary: Hourly Rate - DOE 
We are seeking a Senior Adult Social Care Lawyer to contribute to our client’s mission of making the Berkshire Community a vibrant and successful place. We are seeking a highly skilled solicitor, barrister, or FILEX with a passion for education law and a commitment to community service.
Day-to-day of the role: *Conduct special education needs appeals, including undertaking advocacy at SEND Tribunals.
*Support the Strategic Lead for Adult Social Care and Education Law in developing team members, particularly in enhancing advocacy skills.
*Hold a caseload of SEN appeals and judicial reviews.
*Provide general education advice and manage judicial reviews.
*Conduct your own advocacy effectively.
*Work collaboratively within the team and contribute to the Team’s values.
Required Skills & Qualifications: *Valid practising certificate and authorisation to practice in England as a Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (FILEX).
*Post-qualification experience in educational work, including SEN appeals.
*Ability to manage a comprehensive caseload independently.
*Strong advocacy skills and experience in conducting your own advocacy.
*Excellent time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and perform well under pressure.
*Experience in providing advice to a diverse range of stakeholders.
*Proven track record of supervising staff effectively.
