Job Description:
Tempest is collaborating with a large and dynamic trust in Croydon, dedicated to supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs who demonstrate challenging behaviour. The Trust’s mission is to provide a nurturing and supportive environment where every student can thrive.
Role Overview:
We are looking for compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join the trust. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the students’ educational and personal development. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities:
*Provide one-on-one and group support to students with SEMH needs
*Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons
*Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
*Support students in developing social and emotional skills
*Monitor and record student progress
*Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff to ensure the best outcomes for students
Requirements:
*Experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational setting
*Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
*Ability to manage challenging behaviour in a calm and positive manner
*A commitment to fostering a supportive and encouraging learning environment
*Relevant qualifications or training in education or child development (desirable but not essential)
