Job Description:
STEM recruitment solutions have a superb opportunity for an Electrically biased Maintenance Engineer for their highly acclaimed client on the east side of Edinburgh.
The position involves providing support to the manufacturing business covering a full range of maintenance to all of the site’s equipment. You will perform a schedule of planned preventative maintenance in order to minimise downtime and be on hand to deal with breakdown in a quick and efficient manner so that production can resume very quickly.
The role requires someone who can work both mechanical and electrical maintenance so you should have a relevant electrical qualification.
The job itself will have a great deal of variety and include:
· Emergency breakdown maintenance
· Completing a schedule of planned preventive maintenance
· Working on engineering projects
· Logging all records and completing documentation
· Performing continuous improvement activities
· Operating to health and safety standards
· Complying with quality and industry standards
· Working on motors, gearboxes and PLC’s, controls, sensors etc
Covering on-call every 3 weeks to deal with emergency breakdowns
The job involves working across several departments, building good working relationships with colleagues and also dealing with external contractors where required and is available on a day shift.
