Job Description:
Role: Senior Buyer
Salary: £40k
Location: Old Trafford
My client, an established online retailer based in Manchester, are looking for an experienced Senior Buyer to join their team. This is an opportunity to take ownership of key product categories, working within a fast-moving e-commerce environment to drive performance and enhance their product offering.
The Role:
As Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing, selecting, and managing a range of products, ensuring they meet commercial objectives and customer demand. You will work closely with suppliers, negotiating terms and managing relationships to achieve the best outcomes for the business.
Key Responsibilities:
*Category Management: Oversee key product categories, developing and maintaining a commercially viable range.
*Supplier Negotiation: Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships, securing competitive pricing and favourable terms.
*Product Selection & Development: Identify and source new products, ensuring they align with market trends and business needs.
*Sales & Margin Performance: Monitor category performance, making adjustments as required to optimise profitability.
*Stock & Pricing Strategy: Manage stock levels effectively and ensure pricing remains competitive.
*Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including merchandising and marketing, to support business objectives.
Requirements:
*Previous experience as a Senior Buyer or Buyer in an e-commerce or retail environment.
*Strong commercial awareness, with experience in range planning, supplier negotiation, and category management.
*Good analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
*A strong understanding of consumer trends and product development.
*Experience working with both domestic and international suppliers.
*Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
