Job Title: Trainee Wood Machinist
Location: Glenrothes
Remuneration: £12 - £13 per hour (dependent on experience)
Contract Details: Temp to Perm (12-week trial period)
Responsibilities:
Join our clients dynamic manufacturing team as a Trainee Wood Machinist! We’re searching for motivated individuals ready to kickstart their careers in bespoke architectural joinery. You’ll be involved in producing high-quality products for prestigious projects across the UK. Key responsibilities include:
*Operating various wood machinery: Spindle Moulder, Surface Planer, Thicknesser, Table Saw, Re-saw, X-cutter, Square Dresser.
*Working from cutting lists unsupervised to meet deadlines.
*Maintaining a clean and organised work area.
*Demonstrating strong attention to detail and excellent hand skills.
*Adhering to health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements:
To thrive in this role, you should have:
*Experience in a similar role or a factory production environment with machinery.
*A strong awareness of health and safety regulations.
*The capability to follow instructions and set up machinery competently.
*A good understanding of tooling and wood types.
Desirable Skills:
While not essential, the following skills will enhance your application:
*Basic machine maintenance experience.
*Familiarity with different types of timber.
*A valid driving licence and Combilift forklift licence.

Working Pattern:
Full-time hours: Monday - Thursday 07:30 - 16:30, Friday 07:30 - 12:30, with occasional overtime as required.
