Job Description:
This role has a starting salary of £35,730 per annum, based on a 36 hour working week.
This role is a 12 month fixed term contract / secondment opportunity.
We are looking for an?Enforcement Officer?to be a full-time member of the Highways Enforcement Team working to support proactive and timely resolution of highways issues.
You will be an important part of the Enforcement Team directly supporting the work of Highways and Stakeholder partners. This hybrid role combines working from home with attending the Merrow depot office in Guildford two days a week, on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

About the Role
As an Enforcement Officer, you will manage your own caseload with minimal supervision, addressing escalated and highlighted enquiries. Full training and support will be provided. Your responsibilities include attending various sites across the county, engaging directly with customers to resolve noncompliance issues, and handling difficult situations to ensure safe resolutions.
Reporting to the Enforcement Team Leader, you will efficiently solve enquiries while maintaining best value for money. Building strong professional relationships with colleagues and key stakeholders is essential.

What is your understanding of the key legislation and policies relevant to highway enforcement? How have you applied this knowledge in your previous roles?
Provide an example of a time when you had to explain complex information to a customer or stakeholder. How did you ensure they understood the information, and what was the result?

*Sound understanding of Highway legislation, principles and practices relevant to Highways Enforcement
*Experience in dealing with difficult or challenging situations or individuals
*Ability to work on own initiative, with solution focused problem-solving skills
*Proven written and oral communication with the ability to engage and work in collaboration with others, as well as comprehensive knowledge of computerised business systems
*A willingness to undertake and learn new skills and knowledge
