Job Description:
Job Title: HSQE Advisor
Department/Group: HSQE
Location: Head Office - Sheffield
Reporting To: Head of HSQE
Job Role:
Join a growing engineering services business, specializing in Datacoms, Mechanical, and Electrical engineering within both retail and mainstream construction environments. As an HSQE Advisor, you will proactively support and advise on all aspects of Health, Safety, and Environmental issues.
Responsibilities:
*Support and administer HSQE-related documentation, including the ISO management system and RAMS.
*Conduct site inspections and audits, and attend internal meetings as required.
*Compile and distribute HSQE reports to relevant colleagues.
*Ensure the PIC’s sheet is up to date and required actions are taken.
*Assist in accident and incident reporting and investigations.
*Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
*Ensure efficient induction for all new starters and subcontractors.
*Analyze data to ensure effective welfare measures, including engineers’ hours reviews and speeding reports.
*Produce and deliver training materials for in-house HSQE courses.
*Monitor and review colleagues’ progress through toolbox talks and discussions with managers.
*Ensure statutory training requirements are met, including personal training, objectives, and targets.
*Assist Line Managers in solving specific training problems, either individually or in groups.
*Liaise with internal colleagues to ensure all equipment is compliant and fit for purpose.
Skill Set Requirements:
*NEBOSH or IOSH qualified
*TechIOSH
*Full Driving Licence
*Right to work in the UK
*Strong administration skills
*Excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills
*Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
*Flexibility and willingness to learn
*Enjoy working with people
*Patient, tactful, diplomatic, and approachable
*Ability to stay calm in difficult situations
*Confident in gathering facts and statistics
*Respect for confidentiality
*Good organizing and problem-solving skills
*Ability to work as part of a team
*Attention to detail and accuracy
*Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other databases/software
*Good presentation skills
*Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders
