Job Description:
Adecco are recruiting TWO Senior Planners on behalf of our Public Sector client.
*Senior Planner
*Public Sector - Local Authority based in Wandsworth
*Temporary Role - 3 months with likely extension
*Full Time - Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
*£22.70 per hour PAYE / £29.67 per hour Umbrella
*Hybrid Working Arrangement
*IT equipment provided
*ASAP start
Key Responsibilities:
*Independently manage a diverse caseload of complex and high-profile planning applications, ensuring timely and transparent decision-making.
*Prepare well-reasoned officer reports based on relevant planning policies and material considerations.
*Coach and supervise junior planning officers, fostering their skills and knowledge to enhance service delivery.
*Identify and propose improvements and creative solutions to enhance service quality and operational efficiency.
*Present recommendations at Committee meetings and public forums, providing expert advice to Members and the community.
*Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and industry best practises, and ensure compliance with data protection and health and safety regulations.
What We Are Looking For:
*A degree in planning or a relevant professional qualification, with membership of the RTPI or eligibility for full membership.
*Comprehensive knowledge of planning legislation, policy guidance, and effective customer relations practises.
*Proven experience in local government policy work, including the preparation of development plan documents.
*Proficient in Microsoft Office and planning database systems, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
*Demonstrated ability to negotiate and deliver complex planning applications within set timeframes.
*Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to service delivery improvements.
