Assistant Town Planner
Location: Reading

Are you a recent graduate with a passion for town planning and an eagerness to develop your career within a leading consultancy? My client, a well-established and highly respected planning consultancy, is seeking a motivated Graduate Planner to join their dynamic team.
About the Company With over 50 years of experience, my client provides high-quality, bespoke planning advice and support to property developers, private landowners, and individuals across the UK. Specialising in residential and mixed-use projects, they have a proven track record of navigating complex and often challenging planning scenarios to deliver successful outcomes.
Their services include:
* Site appraisals and land searches
* Planning strategy development
* Pre-application submissions and negotiations
* Planning applications and appeals
* Expert witness services
* Development plan promotions
* Housing land supply advice
* EIA screening and scoping advice
The Role As a Graduate Planner, you will:
* Assist in preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals.
* Conduct research and site appraisals to support planning strategies.
* Liaise with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
* Support the team in negotiating planning permissions.
* Stay up to date with planning policies and regulations.
What They’re Looking For * A degree in Town Planning, Urban Planning, or a related field (RTPI accredited preferred).
* Strong analytical and research skills with a keen eye for detail.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* A proactive and enthusiastic approach to problem-solving.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* A genuine interest in shaping the built environment.
