We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with a mechanical bias to join our team. You will be responsible for maintaining and ensuring the smooth operation of building services within a government facility. This role requires a proactive approach to both planned and reactive maintenance tasks.
Your new role
*Perform routine and preventive maintenance on mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and other building services.
*Diagnose and repair mechanical faults and breakdowns.
*Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
*Collaborate with other maintenance engineers and contractors to ensure efficient operation of the facility.
*Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report any issues to the Facilities Manager.
*Participate in on-call rotation to provide emergency maintenance support.
What you’ll need to succeed
*City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
*Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a government or large commercial building.
*Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and building services.
*Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings.
*Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
*Good communication and teamwork skills.
*Willingness to undergo security clearance checks.
