Job Description:
Role: Electrofishing
Location: Meet up near Maes y Ffynnon covering the whole of North Wales
Pay Rate: £15.04 per hour
Assignment Length: End of April until September and May until October.
Pertemps are currently working with a large public sector organisation in Wales who are looking for Electrofishing technicians to join their seasonal team.
The successful candidate with be directly involved in environmental monitoring, assessment advice and reporting, for the fisheries monitoring and sampling discipline.
Key Responsibilities: *Carry out electrofishing surveys in rivers, lakes, and streams across Wales.
*Collect, record, and analyse data on fish populations, water quality, and habitats.
*Ensure that all electrofishing operations are conducted safely and in compliance with relevant environmental regulations.
*Assist in the preparation and maintenance of electrofishing equipment.
*Contribute to ongoing research and conservation projects.
Skills and Experience *Possess a strong understanding of environmental monitoring, fish species, and freshwater habitats
*Have excellent attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
*Good knowledge of IT systems is desirable (e.g. ArcMap, Microsoft Office software, especially Excel, Word and Sharepoint).
*Are comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, often in remote locations.
*Able to swim is essential.
*Hold a full UK driving license
