Handyperson – Warren Farm Lodge Birmingham
Hours: 18
Contract: Permanent, part time.
Are you a hands-on problem solver who enjoys variety in your day? Anchor is looking for a dedicated Handyperson to help keep our properties and gardens well-maintained, safe, and welcoming for our residents.
About the Role:
As a Handyperson, you’ll be essential to maintaining a high-quality living environment, carrying out repairs, maintenance, and general gardening duties to keep our homes and outdoor spaces looking their best.
About Warren Farm Lodge:
Warren Farm Lodge in Kingstanding is a warm and welcoming care home, rated ’Good’ by the CQC and proudly run by Anchor, a not-for-profit with over 60 years of experience. We offer high-quality residential and dementia care with a focus on personalised support, great food, and vibrant activities – all in a beautiful setting close to Birmingham city centre.
Key Responsibilities:
*Carry out day-to-day repairs, maintenance tasks, and gardening duties
*Ensure health and safety procedures are always followed
*Keep documentation and maintenance records accurate and up to date
*Help present empty rooms and shared areas to a high standard
*Remove waste safely and ensure work areas are tidy
*Use equipment and materials safely and responsibly
What We’re Looking For:
*Experience in maintenance or gardening (both ideal!)
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team
*Practical problem-solving skills and good time management
*Strong interpersonal skills with a caring, customer-first mindset
*Knowledge of health & safety and safeguarding standards
*Ability to maintain accurate records and follow procedures
Desirable:
*Previous experience working in housing, care, or with older people
*Customer Service Level 2 qualification (or willingness to work towards it)
