Reed Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be working with a well-established and reputable accountancy practice in South Belfast and are actively recruiting for a Bookkeeper.
This is a permanent opportunity office based which offers flexibility on the hours of work, part time or full time.
The Role:
Working as part of a team, the role of the Bookkeeper will involve:

Record and process financial transactions for clients, such as sales, purchases, receipts, payments, invoices and bank reconciliation
Ensure that transactions are recorded in the correct ledgers and journals, following accounting standards and principles
Prepare and file VAT returns, payroll taxes and other statutory returns for clients
Assist accountants with preparing year-end accounts, tax returns and other financial reports for clients
Preparation for making tax digital
Communicate with clients and respond to their queries and requests
Maintain and organise accounting files and documents
Performing other bookkeeping and administrative tasks as required

The Person:


Proven experience as a book-keeper or accounting technician in an accountancy practice or similar environment

Proficient in using accounting software, such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage or similar

Knowledge of accounting principles, standards and practices

Ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

AAT qualification or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
