Hays is partnering with a local council to recruit a skilled Capital Accountant / Asset Lead. This role is ideal for a technical accountant with extensive experience in capital accounting and fixed assets. You will play a crucial role in supporting the council’s year-end capital accounting processes and the implementation of IFRS16.

Key Responsibilities:
*Lead the year-end capital accounting processes.
*Manage both BAU (Business As Usual) capital accounting tasks and spearhead the implementation of a new lease software package in line with IFRS16.
*Provide technical expertise in capital accounting, fixed assets, and leases, including PFI leases.
*Supervise and manage a small team of capital accountants.


Requirements:
*Strong background in capital technical year-end accounting.
*Proven experience in capital accounting, fixed assets, and leases.
*Knowledge and experience with IFRS16 and PFI leases.
*Experience managing a team.
*Qualified accountant status.
*Preferably, experience working within a local council.
